Valentines Prayer

With Valentine’s day approaching us, the stores are filled with heart covered cards of all kinds, flowers of every scent and color. Red, pink, and white candies and snacks line shelves and checkout stands. The supplies are endless of things we could buy for those we are closest too. I must admit I love valentine crafts with my kids, and heart shaped pancakes or cookies we make. My personal favorites are peanut M&M’s in the pretty valentine colors (or the normal colors, it doesn’t really matter).

Whitt made me a 3 ring binder style scrapbook a couple years ago with every prayer he prayed for me for a whole year inside it. Dated, specific verses, everything. It has been the most precious gift I have gotten. My husband’s prayers. Better than a card, better than anything money could buy. This was eternal.

Paul prayed for his Ephesian buddies ….I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of His glory He may grant you to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (Ephesians 3:14-19)

I love the part that says “may have strength to comprehend.” Strength to comprehend the breadth, length, height, and depth of our Saviors love. So they could be filled with ALL the fullness of God. Wow. What a valentine card!

I challenge you all, while the focus is on love everywhere anyways, pray for your spouse, or boyfriend/girlfriend. Pray for your families, your friends, your enemies. Pray these verses every time you see a heart in a store, lift up someone you know who doesn’t know Christ, and pray this verse and pray it becomes reality to them. That they can experience the all surpassing love and fullness of our Heavenly Father. Peanut M&M’s are nice, I’m not knocking them, but knowing the one who loves you went to the God of the universe on your behalf…Wow. That is eternal love.
